So, here's the deal.  I like conversions; I like doing them, I like using them.  If there's a hair you'd like to have converted, but have been hesitant to ask for elsewhere, you can request it here.  I won't judge; hell, I converted Newsea's Elizabeth for men.

Please give me a link to the mesh, and an image so I know I have the right one, and I'll give it my best shot.  I can't promise instant results, but I'm pretty fast when real life doesn't interfere. I tend to use Pooklet's textures, but if you'd rather have your hair in something else, please provide a link to a download.

Would you convert newsea's "only you" mesh with pooklet's textures? I can't find it on the booty or simscave, but iosaur retextured it and the mesh should be in it. The adult hair is converted, but I just want your go ahead before going any further. There's one minor and one major (to me) issue. The minor one is a line on the left side. It looks to be a mapping issue and one I can (hopefully) fix with retexturing and/or mapping fiddling. The second is the hair behind the right ear.



As you can see, Newsea left at least one strand of hair emerging from the ear instead of tucking it behind. On the male version, since the mesh had to be scaled up in order to fit, the hair doesn't tuck at all without some severe crunching issues.

Personally, I found the hair tucked behind the ear charming and really tried to make it work. However, since Newsea has made a habit of merging every part of the mesh into one big blob, picking out the individual strands to move without borking the entire area is almost impossible.

I can probably do the conversion with no problems as it looks very straightforward. However, as was the case on a conversion I just did on the Wishing Tree, I'm pretty sure the males version is going to have a forehead of doom. On the other hand, it looks like there's enough hair to move the entire thing around, so I'll give it a shot once I fulfill request 2 above you.

What kind of trouble did you have with your conversion? Too many P1s when importing to Milkshape?

Okay, I have the meshes. The Rose 57 shouldn't be a problem at all, but the hanliu may have the same problems the taobao 3 hair had (weird scalp discoloration, lines where the hair and scalp meet the skull, etc). But I'll work on them both as soon as I finish a couple of projects of my own.

I'm sorry, but I can't convert the hanliu hair. It gives me an error message when I go to fix integrity on the mesh, something about not being able to find a resource. I've seen this on some other older meshes, and researched it, but haven't found a solution. It was even on the Simpe troubleshooting board, but was unsolved there as well.

I really am very sorry I can't do this one for you.

I can, once I've finished the other requests. However, I try not to use retextures done by other people on something I'm uploading; it just feels like I'm claiming their work. If you would prefer snapun's retextures, I'm more than happy to just do the mesh conversion and supply a recolor so you can apply them yourself.

And just a general note if anyone's reading down this far: sorry for the silence. I work in a tax office and we're getting hammered right now. I expect life to return to normal after the 18th.

I noticed you've done a female-to-male clothing conversion in the past, so I thought I'd try my luck. I understand if you prefer to stick to hair requests, though!

If it's at all possible to make something like this for adult males, it would make my week. <3

Hmm. I did convert the fur coat a couple of months ago, but was really unhappy with the neckline. There are no gaps, but, here, have a look:



So, yes, I can do it, but it'll either have to be a less than perfect version now, or a (hopefully) closer to perfect version later.

I don't know why the conventional wisdom is that clothing meshes are easier than hairs. You have loads of wiggle room with hairs, but almost zero with clothing.

Would you care to convert the military beret for females? My female officers feel discriminated. It's a basegame mesh, you'll find it in C:\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\TSData\Res\Sims3D\Sims03.package, the mesh's name is amHatHairBeret, tm... for the teen version. I'm not sure if they're linked anyway, adult/elder would be enough for me. I'll be content with the four maxis colors. :)

I can certainly take a look and see if it's something I can do. Keep in mind that even if I can merge the two in Milkshape, getting the mapping to work properly is another story. Plus, I've never animated anything, so I have no idea how combining two meshes will affect that. So, I'll try, but can't promise speed or success. It looks like a cute hair.

And I do convert clothes, but fail to be satisfied most of the time. Breasts are very difficult to remove. And I am still somewhat new at this...I just switched over from a Mac in January, so I'm still learning. So what I can't do right now, hopefully I can manage in the future.

One thing I've always wanted to see that I bet would be widely useful (and also postable at places like MTS due to no paystuff or TOS-bending) -- making the Maxis cornrow braids for males available for females, and the Maxis female long cornrow dreads available for males. I downloaded the mesh and will take a look. Lately I've been having problems with older meshes and Simpe, so I can't promise success, but I'll give it my best shot.

Regarding the clothing, you mean you're looking for a leaner/less bulky male body type? I don't know of any, really. Jasper posted some dresses at GoS, as did some other creators during the Gender Bender theme month, but they were either based on the "Goopy" dress (a really unflattering and rather awful mesh, IMO) or on a standard male sim body type.

It is possible to frankenmesh something like what you're asking for. I'll need to look at it in Milkshape and see what I'm dealing with first, before I'll know for sure. I have the mesh. What skirt did you want? And did you want to keep the boots? And are you looking for a blank, white canvas or do you have a shirt/skirt pattern in mind? (Keeping in mind, please, that my clothing skinning skills will never set the world on fire.)
